The course is designed to take its participants on an expedition to research the message inherent in the vision of the prophets of Israel. During this journey we will learn to recognize the spiritual essence of the prophetic message. The emphasis in every lesson will be on that particular part of the message which has the power to awaken that which is dormant in the soul and to make it grow within us and bear fruit in our lives. The course has been exclusively designed to be suitable for the average participant, which is to say that there are no requirements for any special knowledge of Hebrew grammar or the Bible. that the only real requirement is a true thirst to know and to understand more. Another way of looking at the course is to regard it as an allegory that describes what happens to the prophetic message from the time of its spiritual origin until it reaches us. Through what channels does the message pass and what transformation occurs when it becomes manifest in the written word. The course is designed to expand
participants' knowledge of the Book of Books, and to penetrate the deeper
meaning of the biblical Hebrew word. It is a story, a parable, which tells
us why there are so many interpretations one of each biblical word. What
link are we missing in the process of message transfer from the source
to us? |
The course aims to make the participants aware of the need to reclaim this missing link and also to demonstrate an innovative process through which they can comprehend that which normally remains beyond understanding within the Biblical message. The course consists of 10 weekly sessions, of approximately 2 hours each. All sessions will be conducted in both English and Hebrew. In the first part of each session, the week's subject and its spiritual implications are tackled. The remainder of each session takes the form of a workshop in which the subjects dealt with are explored through exercises and open discussion. Participants should have a working knowledge of written and spoken Hebrew, with a moderate vocabulary and the ability to speak reasonably fluently. Knowledge of Hebrew grammar is not essential. Familiarity with the (Hebrew) Bible is an important advantage. Students should bring Hebrew and English Bibles to each session. At home, the participants will be able to use the course website to recap the main outline of the lesson. Important note: Dictionaries or Bible commentaries which include interpretations will not be used during the course. |
